As a result of his dedication and commitment to develop and enrich the institutional and commercial relations between Asturias and Panama, the President of ATOX, José Blásquiz, has been named Honorary Consul of Panama in the Principality of Asturias.
The establishment of the Consulate of Panama in Asturias, whose office is located in the facilities that ATOX has in Gijón, is the result of the close relationship that Mr. Blásquiz works with official organizations as well as with the Panamanian business community, without forgetting ATOX’s long export history in Central America, which has a significant presence in Panama.
On June 8, 2012, the inauguration of the Consulate was celebrated with the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Government of Panama and the Principality of Asturias signed by the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Panama, Mr. José Pacheco and the Counselor of Economy and Employment of the Principality of Asturias, Mr. Graciano Torre.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Panama in the Kingdom of Spain, Mrs. Mariana Suarez; with the Consul General of Panama in La Coruña, Mr. Cristóbal Fundora, as well as multiple representatives of the Asturian Administration and business community.
