The ATLAS Hamelight light-guided system created by ATOX Soluciones Tecnológicas is the perfect solution for order picking in warehouses, optimizing the work of pickers and minimizing handling times and inventory errors.
Versatile system
Due to its great versatility, the ATOX light guided system can operate both in pick to light mode, for preparing orders through guided collection and removal of goods, and in put to light mode for the relocation and replenishment of stock on metal racks and consolidation of picking waves.
It is compatible with 100% of existing management systems and can be combined with the smart roller conveyor system. The light guided system can be installed on all types of racking, from light racking to pallet racking.
How does the Hamelight light guided system work?
The basis of the ATLAS Hamelight light guidance system consists of the use of light devices that signal to pickers the locations they should go to and perform Pick/Put or light tasks. The system consists of smart LED strips placed on the rack beams and an electronic device (D4-GPL) in the center of each module.
The LEDs indicate to the operator the locations where they must perform the Pick/Put actions. The electronic devices allow the quantity to be taken/deposited at each location to be shown on their displays and the actions performed to be confirmed by means of their push buttons.
The ATLAS system hardware is installed directly on the rack beams, remaining integrated, with the wiring completely hidden and protected inside an aluminum metal profile. ATLAS hardware is Plug&Play-oriented: everything is connected, making installation quick and safe.
Integration with the ERP/WMS system
Integration consists of communication between the CLIENT’s ERP/WMS system and Atox’s ATLAS system. In this way, all related logistics processes executed by the ATLAS application are coordinated
ATLAS application, such as:
- Order picking
- Stock inventory
- Incident management
- Reports and statistics
- Installation parameterization
- Historical data consultation.
The most common method of integration is through web services. The customer publishes the orders/lines/quantities and the ATLAS system publishes the final result of each order once it has been processed on the picking line.
Advantages of the light-guided system
The development of a picking project with the ATLAS Hamelight system from Atox brings multiple quantifiable benefits with an immediate impact after implementation:
- Reliability
The picker has a permanent view of the active position, eliminating the error rate and reducing the resources dedicated to verifying the process.
- Speed
The picker works with both hands free, without the need for PDAs or paper lists, making their actions more agile, ergonomic, and consequently faster.
- Simplicity
No prior knowledge of the products or locations is required. The working method is based on the instinctive reflection of light, so we obtain high performance from the very first hour of work. It also facilitates the replacement of a picker in the event of unavailability or absence.
- Traceability
The ATLAS software stores all the actions in the process, allowing access to the history of each order, analysis of specific parts of any process, and detection of possible malpractice on the part of pickers.
