In this edition of SIL, new technologies will have a prominent role. Topics such as big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and its application to logistics will be addressed. They will be linked to closely related fields such as smart logistics, logistics 4.0 and the internet of things. The digitization of logistics and cybersecurity in supply chains will also be discussed.
Automation will also play a leading role in this edition of SIL, with special relevance for automation and optimization in the pharmaceutical industry.
Given the impact that logistics has on the global economy, the program includes presentations on sustainability, the reduction of carbon emissions, the greenhouse effect, the energy transition and its impact on supply chains.
The extensive SIL program is completed with topics as varied as multimodal transport, the automotive sector and its close relationship with logistics, efficient logistics management with Lean Six Sigma and the challenges of intralogistics, among others.
The SIL will host for the second time the ALACAT Congress of the Federation of National Associations of Cargo Agents and International Logistics Operators of Latin America and the Caribbean. This event reaches its 36th edition and will be held in parallel with the Congress of Authorized Economic Operators (OEAs), the World Congress of Free Zones and the eDelivery Barcelona Expo & Congress.
Within the framework of SIL, this year the 17th Mediterranean Logistics and Transport Summit will take place, jointly organized by the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME) and the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, and with the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona. The summit program will include a masterclass on economics, geopolitics and their impact on transport in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Africa. The program will be completed with presentations to discuss the situation of women in logistics and their promotion in leadership roles.
The 12th Ports & Shipping Summit will also be held, also held jointly by the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Mediterranean (ASCAME) and El Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, and with the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona.
