As part of its commitment to quality and business excellence, ATOX Storage Systems has obtained the Certification of Conformity for Factory Production Control for the Manufacture of Steel Structures “EXC1” and “EXC2” according to the EN 1090-1 standard: 2009+A1:2011, granted by the Bureau Veritas Certification entity.
This CE marking is only applicable to so-called self-supporting racks. The rest of the metal racks, according to the classification of the storage systems of the UNE EN 15878 Standard, are not considered building structures, so they do not fall within the field of application of the EN 1090 Standard.
Obtaining this recognition proves the permanent growth of the company and confirms that ATOX has a global, efficient production system that complies with the rigorous requirements established by this standard.
This certification together with those that ATOX already has according to ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 also confirm ATOX’s strong commitment to continuous improvement and its tireless search for new paths and innovative challenges.
The importance of the CE marking
The CE marking, which comes from the French “Confirmité Européenne”, means European Conformity. A product bearing the CE marking indicates that the product has been evaluated before being placed on the market and that it meets the EU requirements for safety, health and environmental protection.
By indicating the conformity of a product with the legislation of the European Union through the CE marking, its free circulation within the European Economic Area (EEA) is ensured. This includes all 28 EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The meticulous factory production control of ATOX racking

ATOX has designed and implemented a meticulous factory production control system (CPF), controlling the raw materials, the production equipment used, establishing methodologies for design and manufacturing and carrying out rigorous quality controls with ISO:9001 certification. All this has meant that the ATOX production system has proven its effectiveness and meets the rigorous requirements of Standard EN 1090.
Self-supporting racks
The shelving systems for clad-rack warehouses are characterized, with respect to the rest of the metal shelving systems, in that the shelving itself serves as a support structure for the entire building. This makes it possible to achieve a large storage capacity at height, optimizing the cost and execution time by not requiring the prior construction of a building.
One of the most notable applications of clad-rack racks is the construction of high-capacity automated warehouses, combining pallet racks with stacker cranes.
