As part of its philosophy of business excellence, innovation and collaboration, ATOX Storage Systems received a visit from members of the INNOVASTURIAS association, with the aim of exchanging practices and experiences and promoting innovative culture in the region.
The event took place at the ATOX facilities in Gijón, where its metal racking, storage systems and warehouse automation factory is located, and which provides service to delegations throughout Europe and Latin America.
The event began with a reception by Mr. Luis Buznego Suárez, president of INNOVASTURIAS, and Mr. José Blásquiz Moreno, president of ATOX Storage Systems, who spoke about the importance of innovation as an engine of economic growth.
Buznego highlighted the unavoidable need to innovate to continue being competitive. He explained the objectives of INNOVASTURIAS as an association of Asturian companies and institutions to act as a driving force and catalyst for innovation in the region, serving as an “active meeting point for all agents with a voice in innovation: company; management; university and society”.
After the reception, Blásquiz went on to present the specific case of ATOX Storage Systems, its success thanks to internationalization for more than 25 years and the commitment to innovation with the automation systems of ATOX Technological Solutions.
The attendees were able to see in person how industrial innovation has been put into practice in an exhibition where the operation of the Radio Shuttle SHERPA system was shown to streamline the handling of palletized loads.
Next, the operation of the light-guided system for high-efficiency order preparation through pick to light operations, combined with intelligent roller conveyors, was shown.
After the live exhibition of the technological systems, the visitors toured the facilities of the ATOX manufacturing plant, where they verified that innovation must not only be carried out in the final products, but must also be incorporated into the company’s culture. also applying it to production processes.
As a climax, all attendees participated in a colloquium to exchange experiences and good practices, aligned with the objectives of INNOVASTURIAS.
