The great variety of sizes and weights of the different automotive spare parts makes it essential to use highly reliable metal racks while making the most of storage space. This is one of the reasons why one of the main spare parts warehouses, located in Andalusia and specialized in spare parts for two of the main European automobile brands, has turned to the racks of ATOX Storage Systems to optimize its intralogistics .
Thanks to ATOX’s extensive experience in the automotive sector, the warehouse facility, with an area of some 2,500 m2, was divided into five different areas to optimize maintenance tasks while maximizing storage space. Thus, one of the areas has been allocated to the storage of wheels. A second area, with pallet racks, is dedicated to palletized loads. A third area is reserved for large volume and heavy weight merchandise. A fourth area is for low-volume, low-weight merchandise and, finally, a fifth area for low-volume merchandise.
Mezzanine to multiply the warehouse space
One of the needs of this facility was to make the most of the warehouse space, taking into account the different uses, given the variety of characteristics of the goods to be stored. For this, the layout of the warehouse was designed following several storage strategies. In one of the storage areas, a mezzanine or loft was used. The mezzanines designed and manufactured by ATOX Storage Systems are recognized for their reliability and functionality. Being modular, they can provide diaphanous surfaces on mezzanines, on one or several levels, efficiently multiplying the warehouse surface, without the need for civil works.
The new space achieved with the mezzanine can be used for different uses, such as storage with shelves for ECO picking, use as office spaces, etc.
Raised aisles for high-density picking
For merchandise included as medium loads, ATOX’s SL-6000 picking racks have demonstrated their efficiency, robustness and versatility for decades. Thanks to its characteristics, picking racks with elevated aisles were installed, optimizing to the maximum the storage capacity at height of the warehouse.
Pallet racking SL-9000
ATOX pallet racking, based on its SL-9000 system, has more than 25 years of international leadership. They can be configured in a wide variety of storage systems for heavy loads: clad-rack warehouses for high-bay storage, automatic palletized warehouses, elimination of aisles through live racking with FIFO flow and push-back racking with LIFO flow, cantilever racking for loads of great length etc.
The SL-9000 racking also serves as the basis for the ATOX Soluciones Tecnológicas radio shuttle system, which allows a high storage density to be achieved, without the need for aisles between pallets, while increasing agility and safety in forklift operations. forklifts Thanks to its versatility, the radio shuttle system can work with both LIFO and FIFO flows.
