2The installation of ATOX metal racking consisted, firstly, of conventional pallet racking systems, with picking racks on the lower levels. The installation was completed with compact drive-in racks for pallets, which optimize warehouse space by eliminating the need for aisles.
The pallet racks have been designed for the use of European pallets, one of the most widely used pallet standards in the world and required by the reception procedure of the Galicia Healthcare Logistics Platform.2Drive-in racking consists of a pallet accumulation storage system. They are, therefore, a LIFO system, in which the last pallet to enter is the first to leave.
Drive-in racks are designed so that the forklift enters the metal rack, which is why they are also called drive-in racks, which eliminates the need for aisles between pallets, optimizing warehouse space. They are especially indicated for making the most of storage space for products that do not require a high level of turnover.2The new SERGAS logistics platform is concentrated in a large distribution center, located in the A Coruña municipality of Negreira, providing more than 20 logistics services that were previously dispersed and allowing cost savings by being able to benefit from volume merchandise purchases.
Managing more than 45,000 different references, it provides service to almost 600 destinations throughout the autonomous community of Galicia. A distribution center of size and functionality comparable to the logistics centers of large private companies, designed for optimization and cost savings.
With such demands, the quality and reliability of the metal racking manufactured by ATOX Storage Systems was used, which has more than 50 years of experience and a wide range of industrial racking and warehouse automation systems.
ATOX maintains a consolidated presence both in Galicia and in the rest of Spain, having positioned itself as a leading manufacturer of metal shelving and storage systems in various countries in Europe and Latin America.
