ATOX Storage Systems has been awarded at the XV Impulsa Awards in the category of Best Industrial Company, in recognition of its example as a successful Asturian company and its commitment to sustainability, competitiveness and innovation.
ATOX was born in the fifties as a local business in Gijón and, during the seventies, it spread throughout the national territory. In 1991, Grupo ATOX acquired the Gijón factory, launching a comprehensive change and update plan, which began a path of international expansion, first in Europe and shortly after in Central and South America. A philosophy of growth that has continued since then and that currently has markets on three continents.
ATOX remains strongly linked to the city of Gijón, where it maintains its manufacturing center and from where it exports to many countries. ATOX participates in training initiatives, employment promotion and business collaboration, being an active agent of the industrial and business fabric of Gijón and Asturias. As a sign of its commitment to the region, during 2018 it developed an industrial innovation project, in collaboration with the University of Oviedo, which has given rise to its ATLAS system for high-performance order picking using light guidance, which is already has been implanted abroad.
The Impulsa awards, granted by the Gijón City Council, were created in 2005 with the aim of recognizing the entrepreneurial effort and the trajectory of companies in the city, thus helping to stimulate the entrepreneurial culture and business development in the region. In its fifteenth edition, the jury valued ATOX’s commitment to internationalization, its philosophy of continuous improvement, innovation, modernization, competitiveness and its contribution to the promotion and business development of the city.
